淑萍和芬芳巡防时遭遇水鬼特务袭击，水鬼潜进了村子，两人赶忙通知村民。大家检查时却发现秋娟捧着一把海菜躲在草丛里，说着再舜回来了。秀玉找长文被淑萍撞见，淑萍要求秀玉给自己一个说法，秀玉告诉她，淑萍能对金水付出多少，她就能对长文付出多少。长文告诉淑萍许妈的牌位在他那儿，让淑萍晚上去找她。晚上淑萍一家人吃饭时，金水妈提出要找人问问长文对秀玉的心思。魂不守舍的淑萍终于还是去赴了长文的约。看到母亲的牌位，淑萍跪倒在地泣不成声。长文借此向淑萍表白心意，表示自己还忘不了她。淑萍生气他利用秀玉，威胁长文要告诉秀玉他是告密者，长文却说当年是因为淑萍他才会出现在岛上。淑萍从长文住处离开被阿好和美珠撞见，两人想金水妈告状，金水妈误会淑萍，淑萍无法辩解。淑萍和芬芳站哨时，芬芳不舒服先离开。村长因为生病让长文帮他去查哨。长文没问口令就去查哨，差点被淑萍当成水鬼打死，这时淑萍发现水鬼。再舜又一次潜进了村子，他来到家里，向熟睡的母亲磕头，但在看望秋娟时，秋娟醒来，两人相拥而泣。此时，淑萍正带着众人追水鬼，再舜塞给秋娟一张纸条后匆忙离开。众人追查时，一个水鬼拿到威胁长文，淑萍赶到一枪打死了水鬼。秋娟突然出现，哭着说淑萍打死了再舜，幸好查实后并不是。秋娟被淑萍送回家后，终于打开再舜的纸条，再舜约她七月七到无人岛相见。为了能自由行动，秋娟找到淑萍说自己病好多了，要求上工，淑萍答应。金水妈托人去问长文与秀玉的婚事，长文却说看看再说，让金水妈气得跳脚。
