黑衣人暗中监视着向亦鹏的一举一动，向亦鹏假装借酒浇愁，并按部就班地做着汇款工作。而向亦鹏的动态早已经传到芥川的耳中，那个黑衣人便由芥川指派，因为芥川怀疑日军驻沪军部的山田文夫是中共卧底，而向亦鹏的身上有芥川所需要的证据。

向亦鹏按照组织上的安排，因“精神恍惚”导致工作中出现失误，被组织解除职务。不明内情的余铭真激烈劝阻却无法打动他，向亦鹏看似去意已决。

阎天的手下在执行任务时被赵兴抓获变节，阎天的据点被日本宪兵围堵，伤亡惨重。阎天不得不遣散手下的弟兄们，独自坚守战斗。听到枪声后，已经失忆的杨修远好像想起了什么，阎天告诉杨修远，他曾经是自己的部下，也还曾有另一个身份——“猫眼”。

向亦鹏收拾行李要离开上海，却被芥川的爪牙带回了日本军部，芥川以林璇的死不断刺激折磨着向亦鹏，欲以此劝说向亦鹏变节，说出所掌握的中共地下党的秘密。
