岳叔良此后便一直郁郁寡欢，不久便溘然长逝……时光飞逝，很快岳相忠和张晨曦的儿子出生了，张寿山给外孙起名“张户宝”，并向夫妻二人讲述了起这个名字的用意，由此引出了一段尘封已久的往事……故事要从张寿山的爷爷开始讲起，那时正值八国联军欺辱我中华民族，大肆掠夺瑰宝之际，奉命将宝物押送到厦门港的日军小队途径小镇湖阳，他们化装成清军以避人耳目，为首的正是松本太郎的爷爷松本鸠夫。日军在客栈落脚时被张寿山的爷爷张四爷识破，张四爷用计将宝物“十三弦琴”截了下来，日军欲擒故纵佯装离去，张四爷于是在客栈大宴宾朋，酒兴正酣之际，日军又杀了个回马枪，张四爷匆忙画了一张藏宝图交给妻子赵氏，让她带着孩子从后门逃走……日军抓住张四爷后毒刑拷打，张四爷宁死不屈守口如瓶，日军于是在小镇内大开杀戒，张四爷许诺日军放了乡亲他便招供，待乡亲们安全后松本鸠夫让张四爷画出藏匿宝琴的地点，张四爷泼墨挥毫，写下了一首气壮山河的七绝诗，然后慷慨就义……赵氏在逃亡途中被追击的日军截住，幸好岳叔良的爷爷岳撼天奋力抵抗，藏宝图和张家遗孤(也便是张寿山的父亲)才得以保住，而岳撼天却因寡不敌众，活活被日军砍死。因此岳家后人才一直觉得藏宝图岳家也有份，为此两家争了几十年。松本鸠夫自知自己丢了宝物，罪不可赦，也切腹自杀了。
