因为父亲生病，陆志强暂时留下了。陆志强发现大黑马一看见自己就暴躁不安。乌云说，大黑马是心理出了问题。巴特尔开始调理大黑马，陆志强心生内疚，想帮助巴特尔做点事，可是大黑马一看见他就跑。

乌云骑马带着陆志强追回大黑马，两个人合乘一匹马。陆志强把自己的毛主席像章送给乌云，乌云为了报答陆志强，唱赞马歌给陆志强听。陆志强对乌云产生了爱慕之心。

场部通报批评了牧马班，小马驹事件给大家的心头抹上一层阴影。巴特尔发现，那只被自己打伤的狼经常出没在牧马班的周围，伺机报复。巴特尔做了一些打狼的套子、夹子，严阵以待，准备消灭这只狼。

乌云和陆志强合乘一匹马，被巴特尔看见了，巴特尔很不高兴，借题发挥，和乌云顶撞起来。班会上，巴特尔向陆志强道歉，乌云和高原就小马驹事件做了检讨。

高男人和矮男人出高价买大黑马。旺财乘着夜色，前来偷盗大黑马，大黑马跑了，大家都把责任归到陆志强的头上。巴特尔出去找大黑马，一去好几天没有消息。

陆志强内疚，天天盼着巴特尔把大黑马找回来。

陆天泽的病还没好，董犁铧带来黄晚的信。黄晚还是被发配去云南农场。她在信中向陆天泽表达了自己对党和国家的忠诚，要陆天泽照顾好自己和陆志强，还叫陆天泽不要把自己的事告诉陆志强，她要给陆志强的心里留下一片灿烂的阳光。

有便车去北京，董犁铧让陆志强和董大勇一同回北京，可是陆天泽不同意，把两个人从车上拉了下来。
