杨崇贤师长决定亲自督战，带领战士奔赴战场。杨师长来到战场看到一片狼藉，他鼓舞士兵上满子弹要好好地打。

敌方一个小队攻上来，杨师长打算自己带领一小队去迎战敌人，宁鹏飞说服师长自己带队去伏击敌人。杨师长抡起手中的枪，一枪击中一个敌人的脑袋。宁鹏飞听到枪声带领队员们开枪射击日军。

日军见攻打不上，于是就用山炮轰炸。杨师长扛着机枪拼命地向敌军射击，不慎被敌军击中倒在地上，宁鹏飞见状立刻跑到师长身边，师长用微弱的声音告诉宁鹏飞，别难过狠狠地打击敌人，帮自己找到女儿杨惠。杨师长竖起大拇指，让鹏飞用旗把自己盖上。

宁鹏飞鼓舞战士们为师长报仇，他们顽强的斗志阻止了敌人的进攻。宁鹏飞端着狙击枪开一枪倒下一个。

正在这时，宁鹏飞闻到一股怪味，从战士手中要来一颗烟雾弹，命令战士们上好刺刀准备给敌人拼刺刀。鹏飞把手中的烟雾弹投向敌人，带领战士冲上战场跟敌军厮杀在一起。

日军少佐得到对方使用烟雾弹，他命令小野带领一队人去支援。小野来到战场，命令士兵退回来避开烟雾弹，让士兵们冲烟雾中的国民军开枪。

这时，敌方后方响起来枪声，宁鹏飞得知援军到来，再次鼓舞战士们跟日军展开战斗。两面包夹把日军打全军覆没。宁鹏飞见带队来支援的不是别人正是自己的同学，冉华。两个日军战士，趁乱准备逃走，宁鹏飞拿起两架阻击枪一支给了冉华一支给自己，两个人同时击毙逃跑的敌人。

冉华从宁鹏飞那里得到杨师长牺牲的消息，他感到惋惜。宁鹏飞告诉冉华当年是自己出卖程教官，听到这里冉华掏出手枪对着鹏飞的额头。冉华让宁鹏飞走，告诉他等把日军赶出中国之后再来要他命。宁鹏飞点头称好，自己的命随时等着冉华来取。

冉辛听到自己哥哥打胜仗归来的消息，她哭着喊着找冉华。冉华向冉辛问起父亲跟冉国的消息。冉辛就把以前的那一切一一说给哥哥冉华听，冉华不停地指责自己，甩打着自己的耳光。冉辛说多亏宁鹏飞才保住自己的命，冉华生气地说多亏他，才会弄到家破人亡。

冉辛带着冉华来到坟墓前，认为自己对妻子石莉也死了，他说把日军赶出中国后带着她回重庆。杨惠跟着来到他们面前，冉辛让哥哥别埋怨杨惠。冉华说自己从没有埋怨过杨惠，他又把杨师长殉国的消息告诉了杨惠，并说杨师长一直都牵挂着她，希望得到她的原谅。
