在“公司内部政治”中发挥“恶女”之力的麻理铃惹怒了下任社长岛田，她被调回了“备品管理课”。小野、山濑很担心麻理铃，她却开朗地打算大干一场。然而，此时的“备品管理课”的工作减少，前辈职员也提前退休离开职场。剩下的只有竹内课长和刚从企划开发部调来的真美子。真美子有两个孩子，连续休产假和育儿假，回归职场后也因为持续工作时间短而无法在企划部立足，自请调到“备品管理课”。她一直为自己光想着育儿没法专心工作给别人带来麻烦而道歉。尽管如此，麻理铃发现了真美子撰写的针对“未来”的企划书，这也使她决定在“备品管理课”开始新的工作。很快，麻理铃开始将存放的“备品”表格化并分配给必要的部门。她的想法成为热门话题，很多人来到“备品管理课”，但是工作量增加影响了真美子的个人生活。麻理铃借助峰岸的力量度过了真美子的危机，也了解了职场妈妈必须直面的严酷现实。这时，13楼有房间公出来，“备品管理课”搬到了那里。麻理铃提出了很多建议。但是，因为违反公司规定，她的计划受挫。在麻理铃的鼓励下开始寻求工作的意义的真美子，也渐渐疲惫不堪。麻理铃怀疑自己是否把真美子逼得太紧，非常烦恼。竹内则向她说明了自己不愿继续在“企划管理课”工作的理由。虽然“短时工作”和育儿假都是公司的明文规定，但是真美子还是感到丢人。她在寻找育儿和“自己的人生”两全其美的方法。而被“公司规定”束缚无法动弹的麻理铃为了开创自己的未来采取了行动。
